The best place for Wine Tasting in Lima Peru

El Pozito is a fantastic chain of wine bars found in and around Lima. We discovered it because we really wanted to take a trip to Peru’s wine country and explore the fairly unknown vineyards. However we were short on time and most vineyards are closed on Mondays for tours. This became a handy and delicious place to sample the country’s best offerings.

Offerings and Uniqueness:

In a country with such foodie credentials as Peru it is only natural that great wine would be paired with great food. El Pozito offers both but is essential a wine and spirit store. The menu has delicious offerings of everything from hearty appetizers to full meals. The selection of Peruvian wines is the best you will find outside of the vineyards themselves. It also brings in a wide selection of international varietals from Europe, Argentina, Chile and Australia.

Where to enjoy a savory wine and meal:

El Pozito is found at several sections of the city but the location we enjoyed in La Molina especially incorporates the concept of bar and restaurant. The setting is modern, the wait staff are knowledgeable and it is possible to browse what looks like a library of wines and liquors all around the store. There are places to converse, a second floor and entertainment for all major sporting events. One disadvantage is that they charge 20 soles per bottle to open on site.

We are a group of avid and discerning travelers enjoying real life trips, quests and adventures. This is the place to come for everything one needs to know before traveling. Our website delivers a vast range of practical information related to traveling including travel tips, suggested itineraries and overall, practical travel knowledge.
