The Ritz Carlton Almaty Kazakhstan

A skyscraper embodying the ultra modern and high luxury promises of a new hotel awaits visitors to the charming city of Almaty Kazakhstan. This Ritz Carlton Almaty is sincerely one of those hotels that stands out in its own brand and our vast hotel experience as one of the more memorable places to stay.

First Impressions:

The hotel’s scenic location in the most populous city of Kazakhstan reflects its inside splendor. It sits along a wide boulevard with the city’s snowy peaks in the background and some of the most modern shopping and living venues in the city around it. The hotel has a welcoming ground floor lobby, with several doormen, a concierge and adjacent meeting and social rooms. The décor is genuinely breathtaking and creative, swirling patterns of stone, hanging crystal, statues and bronze reliefs of classical Kazakh horse imagery.

Check in and staff:

The reception is located on the 30th floor. There is an abundance of staff present upon stepping out of the elevators. The lobby is decorated with rich contrasts of light and dark stone, comfortable couches, rich rugs and outstanding light fixtures. There are many themes of Kazakh culture which have been magnificently blended into the modern design of the public spaces. The check in was quick and efficient, all the details of the stay were covered and staff explained aspects of the hotel with impeccable English as well as giving a sheet with complimentary services and hours of operation for various hotel venues.

The hotel rooms combine the elements of elegance, privacy and ultra modern living essentials. Everything from lights, to electronics, to curtains and temperature are controlled by an electronic touch pad. There is abundant use of colorful marble and wood with deep tones. The bed is plush and comfortable and the floor to ceiling windows reveal a sprawling city below and the Alatau mountain range in the distance. The room features complimentary shoe shining, newspaper, coffee and tea set as well as speedy WiFi. The room is such a heavenly abode it is hard to leave, but the hotel has much more to offer.

The hotel features various included amenities that complete its reputation as an urban chic lifestyle venue. Parking is complimentary for all guests. A late check out was extended upon request. The Spa is divided into two major sections, a place for treatments run by the acclaimed Six Senses Spa brand and a spacious indoor pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam room and hammam. A fully stocked gym with a great sound system and an all encompassing view is the perfect place to workout. The crown jewel of the hotel’s features is certainly the 26th floor lounge. It is located on the club level open from 7am till 10pm daily. There are culinary offerings around four times per day, with impressive and constant service. The cuisine is delightful, world class and full of variety. There are intimate seats with floor to ceiling window views of the mountains which is the best place to enjoy a drink and a snack in the city.

The hotel offers rooms service from any of its in house restaurants 24 hours a day. LT Grill is the hotel’s signature steakhouse which offers a simple and elegant approach to food in a refined dinner setting. Vista Lounge is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and as the name suggests is surrounded by the impressive panorama. Sky lounge and bar is just off the main lobby floor and is the place for marvelous drinks any hour of the day or night. The food prices in the hotel are quite costly, but the meals are succulent and the drinks delicious.
