Dubai is a truly exciting destination. A city that has so much to offer with so many great hotels, luxury shopping and beautiful places to enjoy. In a city with such variety it is sometimes the simple little things that make a visit unforgettable. When one is a tourist there is the risk of forgetting to enjoy the small pleasures of life. Certainly in a city of such high class as Dubai even simple things can be expensive, but its impossible to visit this metropolis and not to enjoy a peak at the luxury that is all around.

What most travelers look for when visiting Dubai is for the perfect place to unwind, enjoy delicious food and to have a view of one of the most iconic buildings of the World: The Burj al Arab. Well what many people do not know is that it is possible to have all this together while enjoying a delicious afternoon treat at the Mina A’Salam in Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai. This luxurious hotel is a recreation of the ancient Arabic villages, it is located in Jumeirah beach, connected with a wonderful shopping center. The property is an experience in itself, luxury and iconic architectural design have come together in this place. One can come and enjoy an afternoon of relaxation without even staying at the hotel. There is only valet parking, and this is with a surcharge, the good news is that what is charged for the parking is discounted from any of the bills of consumption in the property. The place is just gorgeous, the lobby is magical and the service first class. There are probably very few places with such an iconic view of the Burj Al Arab (the only seven star hotel in the world) than the one that is possible to enjoy from Madinat Jumeirah.

We discovered this place just days after its opening, some years ago during our first visit to Dubai and from that moment we have never gotten tired of going there and enjoying the many delicacies of the bar located in the lobby level, there is indoor seating, every afternoon live music is played, mostly piano or other relaxing melodies. If the day is not too hot it is a good idea to enjoy the outdoor seating with the unparalleled views of the beach. One can enjoy a drink, a refreshing cocktail or what I truly recommend is the local tea or the arabic coffee. What an amazing treat! Impossible to pass on the selection of local desserts. Coffee is served in the traditional way, and it is simply delicious even more when its accompanied with dates, baclava and other pastries. Do not get scared it is not that expensive, and what is better it is really worthwhile. My afternoon coffee at the Mina A’Salam in Madinat Jumeirah is now a must when visiting Dubai, it certainly recharges me for the exciting nightlife of the Emirate, the endless shopping and everything that is there to be enjoyed.
