Hotel Review: Hyatt Miami at the Blue

Some travelers value location of their hotel, others value the hotel experience and options. If you find yourself in the latter category with plans to visit the Miami metro area, then Hyatt Miami at the Blue is a splendid place to bask in South Florida’s luxuries, with the space and calm of a suburban resort retreat.

It might not be the Lincoln Road or Ocean drive address of the trendy and glamorous, but assuredly one will feel like a VIP in this modern and stylish property in Doral, a scenic suburb only some minutes drive from anywhere one wants to arrive in Miami. Hyatt at the Blue is an all suite property surrounded by golf, spa facilities and culinary genus both on and off the property.

Miami at the Blue is certainly a different take on the Hyatt expression and we really like it. The fact that wireless internet is complimentary regardless of one’s reservation or rewards status is nice. Staff are exceptionally friendly and anticipatory for any needs. We were given a welcome voucher for a complimentary drink as well. Even though we arrived before the check in time the room was already ready and we made our way in. Parking is complimentary and the check in was speedily done.

The Room is the highlight of the hotel and as well it should be. The defining characteristic is huge. Space is not a problem in this part of Miami. Everything is large from the living room, to the kitchenette to the bathrooms, closets and the safe. There are three televisions, one in the living room, master bedroom and in the bathroom. The bathroom has a standing shower as well as a Jacuzzi tub. Complimentary coffee and a newspaper are provided daily. Rooms are categorized as suites, villas and accessible, similar amenities, just each one being bigger than the other.

From the lobby to the guest villas everything about the décor is modern and earthy. There is use of dark woods, metal appliances and stone tile flooring. The villas are laid out around the neighboring PGA golf course for scenic views and increased privacy. There is a complimentary shuttle for those looking to golf as well. The main lobby building is the central location for most of the relaxation and culinary amenities.

The fitness center is well equipped and is accessible 24 hours a day. The Spa Azul is a great place for those seeking the full resort escape experience. We did not embark upon any treatments, but the place seemed quite busy. The pool deck is a hotspot for relaxation and the large pool and outdoor Jacuzzi are refreshing. Everything goes well with the hotel’s getaway theme, much quiet and serenity knowing one is only 20 minutes away from the Miami noise and bustle.

Hyatt at the Blue is a great place to stay for its unique take on Hyatt services as well as its unparalleled location and enjoyable charms. It is one of the better Hyatt properties in Florida and certainly a great one in Miami, be sure and get to know this side of Miami relaxation if you get the chance.
