Hotel Review: Hilton Airport Madrid, Spain

In a recent trip to Madrid we decided to stay at the Hilton hotel near the Barajas International Airport, we were pleasantly surprised by the many extras at the hotel, the modern design, the generously sized rooms and the conveniences than not many times travelers find at an airport hotel.

It is located very close to all the terminals, there is a free shuttle running from and to the airport. If one lands at terminal four it can take around 20 minutes to get to the hotel, from the other terminals it is closer.

The hotel offers a free shuttle to downtown, which is another great perk for those wanting to explore Madrid. The public transportation system of the Spanish Capital is excellent. There is a Metro Station at the airport itself, and another around 10 minutes walking from the hotel (just be sure to ask for a map to not get lost).

Once in the hotel the friendliness of the personnel calls immediately the attention of guests. Check-in was done for us very promptly and friendly. We received a room in the executive level which gave us access to the lounge that is open the whole day and offer breakfast and some drinks and Delicious snacks in the evening.

Rooms are very well appointed and quite generous in space for European standards. There are hardwood floors, desk space for work and a big bathroom with a tub.

The design of the hotel is modern and stylish. There is a nice bar to hang out in the first floor and a restaurant. We actually loved our meals at that restaurant. Even when we had breakfast included at the lounge we as well received the option to get the breakfast in the restaurant were selection was even bigger.

We loved the fitness center and the indoor pool with hydrotherapy, everything comes complimentary!

Probably the best part of the hotel besides of being stylish, well located and with excellent perks is that rates are super affordable. This is a property where one can expect to pay much more but it is not hard to find rates starting at 100 USD.

The Hilton Madrid Airport is a great option for those wishing to spend a night close to the airport before or after a flight, or those with a long connecting time. If can be used as a base to explore the city, but one has to keep in mind that it takes around half hour or more to reach the tourist areas of Madrid. The hotel is as well an excellent option for business travelers since there are several meeting facilities at this property.
