Sentosa Island is a playground by the sea. Its miles of parks containing Universal Studios, skytrain, zoos, parks and various adventure sports activities make it the one of the closest theme park escapes next to one of the world’s big cities. Right in the heart of it all is the Resorts World complex. This conglomeration of hotel facilities, a casino, luxury shopping and endless restaurants makes for an alluring stay in the midst of it all. The Hard Rock Hotel is a bastion of good times, comfort and style at the center of the action.
The Hotel is just a ten-minute drive from the center of Singapore but it feels like half a world away. It has been awarded in the top five hotels in Asia as best in Signature deluxe hotels. The vibe is certainly geared towards fun and energy, since there’s only one reason to come to Sentosa, relax and unwind. That doesn’t mean its short on business facilities and social event venues however as its combined ballrooms can hold over seven thousand guests. This comes in hand for concerts as well as conferences.
Upon entering the lobby it can be a busy space, but the colors are deep tones of blacks, purple and blue which give a mellow mood. The accompaniment of live music from the lobby bar and the glam rock style furniture allows you to feel like a VIP guest just rolling in. The check in was efficient and the personnel were delightful. Check in is at 3pm and many people coming from long flights have commented that there is no exception to this, the hotel however may allow one to access the pool and relaxation areas. The deluxe rooms are dramatic yet comfy. The state of the art sound system and the plush bedding can lure one to lay back and listen to music for hours. But alas, there is much more to see and discover.
The pool as always is the place to see and be seen. It occupies a vast stretch in front of the hotel with open areas as well as private lagoons to explore. The staff are attentive about towels and service and the signature Hard Rock cuisine is never to far away. Of course there is the Hard Rock Café, the Rock Pool Bar, Starz Restaurant and the To Go Deli. Just a minute outside the hotel one can find all sorts of other venues to explore as well from basic chains to high end dining.
A resort wouldn’t be complete without the Spa and Massage treatments to bask in. The Spa is a great place to unwind and enjoy some quality time. Parking is free in an on site private garage. Wifi is not included but can be bought in packages. Children under twelve can stay free of charge when using an existing bed in the room. The hotel has access to a golf course just two miles away and Snorkeling is popular among the many beach activities, which go on during the year. There are some package deals which include park and Universal entrances and this can be a great way to enjoy Sentosa and Singapore proper which is just around the corner.
