Putting together luxury accommodation experiences with Asian hospitality standards might be the closest thing to perfection one can encounter in travel and tourism. Lucky for the visitor to China this sweet combo can be indulged in again and again across hundreds of cities in literally thousands of Hotels. One which we recently had the pleasure to discover, that left a lasting impression was the Conrad Dalian Hotel, located in Northeastern China.

Currently with just over a year in operation it seems like the hotel has made a wise decision to embark on delivering its world renowned services to this spectacular city. Dalian is one of China’s hottest places for domestic tourism and it is a city full of stunning architecture, majestic vistas and rampant growth. The Conrad occupies prime real estate in the developing harbor district where in a few years time many hotels and residences will be transforming the skyline.

The hotel itself on approach is one which is grand and elegant. The tower is actually shared by the Conrad and the Hilton Hotels. Each occupies a separate section of the building and have completely separate entrances, yet one can pass freely between both at several junctures. The benefits are that Conrad guests have access to both gym and recreation facilities as well as all the restaurants and lavish environs.

Our arrival was especially early, but that was no problem. Our Honors status and the Conrad spirit of service had us upgraded and checked in within a matter of minutes. In a style we’ve experience in several of Conrad’s properties we took in the splendid sights of the glimmeringly glamorous lobby and were ushered into a more intimate and comfortable check in desk. Personnel were genuinely gracious and interested in our every need from start to finish. The first and lasting impressions we had of the hotel are that it is a place of intimate style, pleasant sophistication and panoramic elegance.

The Room upgrade we received was a junior suite. The place had the glow of a plush imperial escape while retaining many of the colors, details and comforts of Chinese luxuries. The bathroom was an impressive expanse of colored marbles, the furniture was deep and comfy and the room wired for all the latest gadgetry. The room was cleaned to perfection and turn down service was made as if almost by magic each day. The floor to ceiling windows gave us expansive views of the picturesque harbor.

Every inch of the hotel glimmers with a luxurious shine. No expense is spared in the vast array of art, gold chandeliers and rich décor from the lobby to the halls to the restaurants. A very special highlight should be given to the executive lounge. Staff were very intuitive put emphasis on making every request something personally and swiftly handled. The atmosphere of relaxation, the expansive views and the indulgent food and beverage service made it a personalized retreat in the skies.

Conrad Dalian is a hotel that is setting a high standard and delivering an unforgettable accommodation to the masses of tourists who are revisiting and discovering Dalian. It is certainly the place to encounter Dalian’s latest hidden treasure and a place where you can treasure your personal time at its best.
