Cape Town in South Africa has been described as one of the most picturesque cities of the world. It is certainly in an idyllic location, surrounded by impressive mountains and golden sandy beaches. It may seem far, but this is a city with good connections. There are in fact several flights arriving every day from Europe, Asia and different cities in Africa. It is possible to reach Cape Town in a cruise, driving or using the train system. There several domestic flights every day to the capital and other main cities in South Africa. There are enough activities to keep even the most active traveler busy, but it is as well an ideal place for relaxation, luxury shopping and good meals. Here are some of the must see things one should do when visiting Cape Town.

The cable car to the Table Mountain:

The best view of the city is from the top. This is a majestic mountain, probably the first and the last place that one has to visit when in Cape Town. The Cable car runs from around 8 am to 10 pm. It is a completely different feeling to be there during the day than during night, both are sensational.


Enjoying one of the magnificent beaches:

Golden sandy beaches are all around, those closer to the downtown may be crowded during summer and especially for New Years Eve since here happens to be one of the most spectacular parties during New Year’s Eve. Those who want to enjoy a little more solitude can go to some of the beaches outside the city, one of the good ones is Tietisbaai.



There is an incredible attraction and magic surfing in these waters. Some people say that the sharks just add more emotion, the truth is that Cape Town offers some of the best surfing of the world and the Shark issue is just an issue for a few, most surfers considered Cape Town to be a safe place to practice this sport.


Hitting the great nightlife of Cape Town:

The city is known for the great vibe, excellent restaurants and many venues for endless nightlife. Long street is the place to Party, locals are friendly and visitors are always in a good mood.



Many of those who come here want to experience the wild side of South Africa, there are several good Safari opportunities just two hours away from Cape Town, there are very nice hotels and luxurious camps. It may be done as a day trip, but certainly it is worth a longer visit.
